The Green Anaconda is almost the world’s longest snake reaching 6–10m (19.8 to 33 feet) long, rivaled only by the reticulated python (python reticulatus). Although there have been reports of snakes 15-20m being seen and tales of snakes ranging from 40-50m long, it is highly unlikely that these snakes could get any longer than 15m at the most. The heaviest one found weighed around 250kg. the rest of the body, usually with distinctive orange-yellow striping on either side. The eyes are set high on the head, allowing the snake to see out of the water while swimming without exposing its body.

deep sea angler fish

They are bony fish named for their characteristic mode of predation, wherein a fleshy growth from the fish's head (the esca or illicium) acts as a lure; this is considered analogous to angling.
the fish's eyes, and terminates in an irregular growth of flesh (the esca) at the tip of the spine. The spine is movable in all directions, and the esca can be wiggled so as to resemble a prey animal, and thus to act as bait to lure other predators close enough for the anglerfish to devour them whole.
Some anglerfish are pelagic (live in the open water), while others are benthic (bottom-dwelling). Some live in the deep sea (e.g. Ceratiidae) and others on the continental shelf (e.g. wide mouth extends all around the anterior circumference of the head, and both jaws are armed with bands of long pointed teeth, which are inclined inwards, and can be depressed so as to offer no impediment to an object gliding towards the stomach, but prevent its escape from the mouth. When scientists first started capturing ceratioid anglerfish, they noticed that all of the specimens were females. These individuals were a few centimetres in size and almost all of them had what appeared to be parasites attached to them. It turned out that these "parasites" were highly reduced male ceratioids.
At birth, male ceratoids are already equipped with extremely well developed olfactory organs that detect scents in the water. The male ceratoid lives solely to find and mate with a female. They are significantly smaller than a female angler fish, and may have trouble finding food in the deep sea. Furthermore, the growth of the alimentary canals of some males becomes stunted, preventing them from feeding. These features necessitate his quickly finding a female anglerfish to prevent death. The sensitive olfactory organs help the male to detect the pheromones that signal the proximity of a female anglerfish. anglerfish are known to occasionally rise to the surface during El NiƱo, leaving large groups of dead anglerfish floating to the surface. In 2010, Greenpeace International added the American angler.

cobra snake pictures

venomous snake belonging to the family Elapidae. However, not all snakes commonly referred to as cobras are of the same genus, or even of the same family. The name is short for cobra de capelo or cobra-de-capelo, which is Portuguese for "snake with hood", or "hood-snake".any member of the genus Naja, also known as typical cobras (with the characteristic ability to raise the front quarters of their bodies off the ground and flatten their necks in a threatening gesture), a group of venomous elapids found in Africa and Asia
spitting cobras, a subset of Naja species with the ability to eject venom from its fangs in self-defense
any member of the genus Boulengerina, a.k.a. water cobras, a group of venomous elapids found in Africa Hemachatus haemachatus, a.k.a. the ringhals or ring-necked spitting cobra, a venomous elapid species found in Africa
Micrurus fulvius, a.k.a. the American cobra or eastern coral snake, a venomous elapid species found in the southeastern United States
Hydrodynastes gigas, a.k.a. the false water cobra, a mildly venomous colubrid species found in South America
a taxonomic synonym for the genus Bitis, a.k.a. puff adders, a group of venomous vipers found in Africa and in the south of the Arabian Peninsula

bed bugs

the increase in developed countries, bedbug bites and related conditions have been on the rise as well, since the 1980s-1990s. The exact causes of this resurgence remain unclear; it is variously ascribed to greater foreign travel, more frequent exchange of second-hand furnishings among homes,Bedbug bites or cimicosis may lead to a range of skin manifestations from no visible effects to prominent blisters. 446 Diagnosis involves both finding bedbugs and the occurrence of compatible symptoms. ranging from no visible effect (in about 20-70%) to small macular spots, prominent wheals and bullae formation along with intense itching that may last several days. A central hemorrhagic spot may also occur due to the release of anticoagulants in the saliva.
Symptoms may not appear until some days after the bites have occurred. Reactions often become more brisk after multiple bites due to possible sensitization to the salivary proteins of the bedbug. The skin reaction usually occurs in the area of the bite which is most commonly the arms, shoulders and legs as they are more frequently exposed at night.Other possible conditions with which these conditions can be confused include: scabies, allergic reactions, mosquito bites, spider bites, chicken pox and bacterial skin infections. Bed bugs classically form a line of bites colloquially referred to as "breakfast, lunch, and dinner" and rarely feed in the armpit or behind the knee which may help differentiate it from other biting insects.

stink bug

Farming areas can yield good numbers in crops like cabbage, cotton, etc. or in nearby roadside vegetation. Many species come to lights at night. Adult stink bugs of various species are active from spring through late fall. The harlequin bug, Murgantia histrionica (see illustration), a beautiful orange and black variegated bug, lays equally bright eggs. This southern United States stink bug is quite common and sometimes spreads north to New England states in years of abundance.Hold the container below the bug and tap it into the container. Use an insect net to guard against them flying away from you.

introducation of anaconda snakes !!
Anacondas in the wild spend most of their time hanging out in rivers hunting for their food. They are solitary creatures that are somewhat shy and not many of them are easily seen.
the Brazilian Rio Abuna in 1907 [scene depicted in adjacent image]. Despite its immense length, Fawcett reported that this snake had a width of just 30 cm (which makes the tale rather unbelievable), and he even discussed trails in the swamps that 'support the statements of Indians and rubber pickers that the anaconda sometimes reaches an incredible size, altogether dwarfing that shot by me' (Heuvelmans 1995, p. 340). Despite these many stories, no-one has yet produced a snake that exceeds 10 m in total length (though I hope that - if such a specimen is ever found, it is not killed, but is restrained or captured or something.some snakes grow to sizes that exceed the 10 m record generally accepted as the authenticated maximum: this was for a Reticulated python Python reticulatus shot on Sulawesi in 1912.the record, I agree with Jason that snakes exceeding 15 m in length almost certainly never existed, but I still want to know why a qualified fossil snake expert would say, on more than one occasion, that they did. At least one noted expert on fossil snakes is a regular visitor here at Tetrapod Zoology.the larger the margin of errorAnacondas like to hang out in rivers so it would be difficult to estimate the length of one seen swimming, without seeing the entire snake. It's the anaconda's ability to remain partly hidden in the water that makes it difficult to accurately find (and document) a specimen that exceeds the current world's record.
